Overview

This route features gradual ascents through lush rainforests, moorlands, and alpine deserts before reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 :

Arrival in Tanzania & Pre-Trek Briefing

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to a hotel in Arusha.

Meet your guide for a trek briefing, gear check, and preparation.

Overnight stay in Arusha.

Day 2 :

Arusha to Marangu Gate – Hike to Mandara Hut (2,700m)

After breakfast, transfer to Marangu Gate (1,860m).

Complete registration and begin trekking through the lush rainforest.

Spot wildlife like colobus monkeys and exotic birds along the way.

Arrive at Mandara Hut (2,700m) for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 :

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (3,720m)

DTrek through moorland vegetation, with breathtaking views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.

Encounter unique flora and fauna while gaining altitude.

Arrive at Horombo Hut (3,720m) for an overnight stay.

Day 4 :

Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut

Rest and allow your body to adjust to the high altitude.

Optional acclimatization hike to Zebra Rocks or Mawenzi viewpoint.

Stay overnight at Horombo Hut.

Day 5 :

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (4,700m)

The trail transitions into alpine desert as you cross the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo.

Reach Kibo Hut (4,700m) and rest before the summit push.

Day 6 :

Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Descent to Horombo Hut

Start the final ascent at midnight.

Trek via Gilman’s Point (5,685m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa!

Enjoy breathtaking sunrise views and take memorable photos.

Descend back to Horombo Hut for an overnight stay.

Day 7 :

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate – Return to Arusha

After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate.

Receive a summit certificate and celebrate your achievement.

Transfer back to Arusha for a well-earned rest.

Day 8 :

Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or continue exploring Tanzania with a wildlife safari or cultural tour.
