Itinerary
Morning: Materuni Waterfall & Coffee Tour
07:30 AM: Pick up from Seneto hotel in Arusha by African Gateway Safaris driver-guide.
- Drive to Materuni Village, located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro (approx 2.5 hours from Arusha).
- 09:30 AM: Arrive at Materuni Village and begin your guided walk to Materuni Waterfall (approx. 40 minutes).
- Spend time enjoying the scenery and taking photos at the stunning 80-meter-high waterfall.
- Visit a local Chagga household for an interactive coffee-making tour, learning traditional methods from bean to cup.
- Enjoy a delicious locally-prepared Chagga lunch.
Afternoon: Chemka (Kikuletwa) Hot Springs
- 01:00 PM: Depart Materuni for Chemka Hot Springs (approx. 1.5-hour drive).
- 02:30 PM: Arrive at Chemka and spend the afternoon swimming in the warm, turquoise waters. Relax under the shady trees, take a refreshing dip, and enjoy the natural beauty of this oasis.
Late Afternoon Return:
- 04:30 PM: Depart Chemka Hot Springs and drive back to your hotel in Arusha.
- 06:00 PM – 07:00 PM: Drop-off at seneto hotel.
